Ambang Embang

KADEK AGUS ARDIKA "Dekkung"
12,85m x 6,7m x 12,85m
Galvanise Pipe, Galvanise Plate, Paint

The term "ambang embang" refers to a space that is intentionally left blank. It is a space of non-place, neither here nor there. It is not something that one can simply point at. It is something that is always moving towards and not an arrival. The work was inspired by Balinese Hindu customs, culture, and religion, especially concrete traditional rituals culturally wrapped in faith. It can be said that physical form (existence) is a bridge to grasp the essential non-physical or the non-existence which we call faith.

Archeology of the Soul | 2021 - 2022

4.5m x 3.25m x 7.25m
Galvanise Pipe, Galvanise Plate, Paint

"Archeology of the Soul" is about a quest for awareness of the soul, the true Self. The soul is symbolized as a balanced pile of stones, silent and still, in which there is room for knowing the Self. The work is designed to contrast and blend with the surrounding environment, giving artistic, monumental, interactive, dynamic, and contemplative impressions.

Teduh | 2021 - 2022

4m x 3m x 6m
Stainless Pipe, Stainless Plate

"Teduh" takes the form of a cloud with strong support. The pillars supporting the cloud symbolize the power and values of spirituality. The shape of the cloud, soft in nature, symbolizes the soul. Drops of water like rain falling from the cloud are a symbol of blessing. The sculpture is not only about nature, but also about spiritual values which continue to grow and change over time in humans. They are like water that evaporates into clouds and falls as rain and seeps into the ground, providing fertility. This work is about awareness of the process of life that continues to revolve.
